Palo Santo

The origin of the use of palo santo is very ancient; it was used by Inca shamans in religious rituals, as a tool to attract luck and ward off any signs of negativity, and as a means of achieving better spiritual communication with their gods. This tree is also present in indigenous wedding rituals. The couple must plant a sapling of this tree in the absence of witnesses in order to bind their destinies and make their union last forever.
Considered a tree with medicinal properties, it contains limonene, present in a high percentage in its trunk. Its essence was used to treat skin and muscle problems; the soot from this wood was used to treat external wounds, and bark decoctions were used to treat stomach problems.
When burned, it releases a fragrant smoke that has many purifying properties against evil spirits, energies, and negative forces. Palo Santo is used by healers and shamans during certain rituals. The aroma of Palo Santo is sweet and woody. The scent of Palo Santo evokes a blend of frankincense, Atlas cedar, sweet grass, lemon, eucalyptus, with a subtle hint of mint.
